XRP open interest data shows the size and changes of open open interest on the exchange. open interest and turnover have different meanings. An increase in open interest itself cannot determine the subsequent price direction.
open interest size measures open contracts. The increase or decrease in OI is not equal to the net capital inflow, nor can the long and short direction be determined independently. When reading the funding rate, please combine it with the settlement cycle of the corresponding exchange.

What is Ripple (XRP) open interest?
Open interest measures the size of derivatives contracts that remain open. This page shows aggregated XRP futures open interest and exchange breakdowns from CoinGlass. It does not represent an individual account’s positions or include options open interest.
Does rising XRP open interest mean the price will rise?
Open interest alone does not indicate price direction. Every contract has both a long and a short side. Rising open interest means more contracts remain open; assess it alongside price, funding rates and trading activity.
How do USD and coin-denominated open interest differ?
USD shows the notional dollar value; coin units show the equivalent quantity of XRP. Price changes affect the dollar value. This display unit is separate from the contract’s margin type, such as USDT-margined or coin-margined. Changes in the table use the API’s USD-based figures.
How often is the data updated?
While the page is visible, live data is requested about every 45 seconds. The server caches open interest snapshots for 30 seconds and market overviews for 60 seconds. Historical charts check for updates about every 90 seconds, with 90-second caches for short ranges and five-minute caches for longer ranges. Retrieval time differs from the exchange’s original update time. CME and other markets may have separate delays; outages may result in a stale snapshot or unavailable data.
Why do some exchanges or metrics show “—”?
“—” means the source did not return data, API access is limited, the metric does not apply, or a request temporarily failed. For example, dated futures do not have perpetual funding rates. Missing values are not treated as zero.
Where does the data come from, and how should I read the historical charts?
Market data comes from the CoinGlass API. Historical charts show exchange open interest snapshots and prices at the corresponding time. Aggregates include the exchanges available at that time. “All” means all history currently available through the API, rather than every record since listing. Price uses a separate right-hand axis. You can switch between USD and coin units; missing values are never replaced with simulated data.
